Hello G
I'm having a bad day today with my T. At the moment I'm taking St Johns Wort to try and combat the depression that T sends me into. I worry about taking drugs in case they make my T worse. I feel like taking up smoking again and turning to alcohol. Has anyone had any success with Antidepressants? I'm due to see my GP next week.
I feel that if I was not so low I might be able to cope with the T better.
I'm being booked for TRT what happen at this therapy? and Relaxation sessions.
Many thanks
Roger

Hello Roger,

In MOST cases anti-depressants are a cop out by doctors, for one they only 'mask' the symptom on a temporary basis and two it doesn't get down to treating the 'cause' of your tinnitus. But if it's temporary relief you want by taking a pill then by all means go for it, I went on the low dosage last february but only for a week, then I decided to come off them. You're quite right, you may get dependent on them. In some cases tinnitus may just be a sign of wear and tear over the years like when eye sight gradually fails, or when our backs go. Then again a lot of recent has gone into common ailments over the recent years. We know tinnitus can be a bastard, and it's easy for a doctor to say 'Learn to cope with it', but the horizon is looking promising for the long term, who knows how long it'll be. Do you know how you got your 't'?
